Sendai
I missed the chance
To see my lavender bloom this year
That purple that causes me to smile
Its calm blanket resting on my chest
Whispering quiet words up my neck
And around my ear
But along side a government building
In downtown Tucson
There were three tufts
In a bare sidewalk garden
Acting like persistent hair
On a balding head
Refusing to let go or look good
I tried to get it
