He is one of those people that a simple title doesn&#8217;t seem to capture who he is; singer, songwriter, poet, author, monk, jew, father, lover, thinker, Canadian, American&#8230; they all fall short. I&#8217;ve posted before about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bittermancircle.com\/2006\/03\/03.html#a671\">his financial troubles<\/a> and the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.leonardcohenimyourman.com\/\"> new documentary about him<\/a> that was released this year; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/templates\/story\/story.php?storyId=5422403\">here is a link to an interview<\/a> with Terry Gross on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/templates\/rundowns\/rundown.php?prgId=13\">NPR&#8217;s Fresh Air <\/a>which is at once entertaining, informative and gives a peek of what makes him such an important part of my formation.
