Sometimes it&#8217;s because we insist that what we use should<br \/>\nwork all the time (or as close to all the time as possible).<br \/>\nSometimes our clients appreciate fine vintage things and can hear the<br \/>\ndifference&#8230; 9 volt batteries not included.<\/p>\n<p>Home stereo geeks are a scary breed; they spend a<br \/>\ngreat deal on stuff that they are told makes a difference. In this day<br \/>\nand age of mp3&#8217;s that acoustically fold up if there&#8217;s a distorted<br \/>\nguitar on the recording and people are used to hearing the way a song<br \/>\nsounds as a ringtone, pehaps hi-fi is even more crazy.<\/p>\n<p>Especially if you&#8217;re having trouble making your car payment this month, go over to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilikejam.dsl.pipex.com\/\">ILikeJam<\/a> and see the speaker and power cables going for thousands of dollars&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2005\/11\/07\/astronomically_overp.html\">Astronomically overpriced audiophile equipment<\/a>. <strong \/><\/p>\n<p>But, as the title gives away, I know mixers and they have a thing for<br \/>\nfaders and knobs.
