4/15/94- Andy

                                                            4/15/94

                         Andy

It only seems to happen late at night
When silence fights with nature's darker sounds
Even the chatter of transformers and microchips
Doesn't stop me from hearing my heart flexing

I don't know where you are, but I still feel you
See you, smell you, hear you, taste you
My memory seems to have gotten a rebate
 When it comes to you

Are you traveling North or South
Or in between major compass points?
Are you on the side of the road
 Curled up on your side?

When my eyes close I dream of intersections
 The thousands that we've crossed
Out of all of them we meet
 You East, me West
 Our engines never cool

Soon I will be traveling in the dark again
And fear passing you in the night
So I write these words to shore my love
Reaching out to where you drive.
