San Antonio-Austin

Simply put
It’s the strangest chapter
In a typically dysfunctional relationship
Love and disappointment in equal measure
To bring all of what’s good and bad from the Earth
to a new place
Where you can quickly forget it’s origin
And blindly take credit
So vast, so strange, so different
This America
The tearful laughter that rings between paradise and paradox
The human warmth between a caress and a shove
It’s the freedom that makes hearts soar
And the price tag shock
The rough hewn walls whitewashed
And the quickly poured mini-mall
Reminding us that love can make you feel a crushing ache
And an endless energy all at the same time
And for the same reason.
