DFW-NYC

Whatever the name
You take me there
And the salt in the air and clean crisp clean linen
Are like a long exhale, your body telling you

“Relax…”

The tea is strong and the smiles are even stronger
I’m no longer home but at home where I am
It’s so rare when a friend becomes vulnerable enough
To share so many of his gifts

This is a time when labels fade away and souls mingle
The sun sets, casting shadows across the courtyard
The evening sounds breathe like an organic clock
Letting you know that the day is done and the hidden time of night
is here

A ship’s lights reminds me there are others
Who may feel the waltz of life tonight
in the same key
And that some songs exist within us all
And some people can extract them
To share with the universe.
