(shopgirl)

The totality of death seems to be so blanketing
But once in a while you get a reminder
That there are things worse than death

The living of life without hope or sharing
The injury of being alone
No matter how large the city
Or how huge the conquest
What good is a beautiful view
If it makes you feel betrayed
By not being able to share it with someone else?

Trade an obsession for another;
Addict yourself to sadness,
You can get off anytime, anywhere
While its clear that it’s all
An inside job

What if you’re an empty, expensive room
Decorated with dollar signs and cold silence
Never homey or warm
The user used
The sadness squared

What good is a beautiful view
If you don’t feel anything?
