Being from Dallas the subject of Santiago Calatrava is a touchy one, with his three bridges to nowhere (sorry South Dallas) going over budget and seeming to be only an artistic statement. He does beautiful work; here in Valencia (where he is from) he created the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences), a complex of remarkable buildings built in a dry river bed that cuts Valencia in two.

Though these Blackberry Pearl 1 meg photos are not really of any great quality (did I mention I forgot my other camera when I left the states?), they do capture the other worldly nature of the El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía and the L’Hemisfèric…
