So, like most of the people who got the new blackberry when it came out who are Mac people, I’ve been waiting for the new version of Pocketmac to come out so I can actually get my address book ported over, transfer files without having to use a ramrod and start using this gizmo for something other than annoying my wife.

Well, hush hush, the PocketMac 4 beta is posted for the stranded 8100 users for beta testing…

What difference has it made? My Mac address book is now in my crackberry… the photos I’ve taken are properly transferred over to the laptop, cleaned up and posted on Flickr

I have mp3 music and podcast files loaded on the phone as with the USB driver that comes with the software give you the choice of accessing the 8100 as a ‘berry or the media card as a drive… so slightly modified (thanks to iSquint) video files (home movies, a music video and one vlog/video podcast have made it and play) and mp3 ringtones that I made for my other phone.

I have figured out the bluetooth transfer which is slow and hinky… but the bluetooth EDGE modem set up is a real slick deal…

Neat-o… now if I sort out the stereo headset/mic/ 2.5mm jack deal I’m good to go…
