Seems like only a few days ago I was getting home from tour and now I’m starting another. My return from Venezuela was not hampered by protesters but by something I ingested, a four day trip to unpleasantness. The doc sorted me out, I finished my laundry and I hopped on a plane to Colorado to start a new job with a new act.

Red Rocks

We’re performing tonight at the beautiful Red Rock Amphitheatre, a stage plopped down in a natural setting of looming red sandstone which you’ve probably seen in videos (think U2). It’s cool in the morning and at night here still and it has been known to rain on a regular basis. So far, so good.

To walk into a new job on a show day is a special treat. It’s a chance to look like an idiot right away. I have done it more than a few times and though it doesn’t get any easier, it it a little less stressful. This bunch of folks is very nice and you know you’re gonna be all right when they invite you to a cookout the night before and the artist takes your grill order.

So, I’m gonna try to stay focused on this until I kinda know what I’m doing and I’ll start reporting a little more regular.
