hey Aron, I'm a member of the Metallica fanclub (metclub)..
I'm a
fan of the band for more then 25 years... I have gone to more then 25
concerts, the only thing that is missing is a meet & greet with the
band.. I have a guitar where I collect autographs and there is one I
really would like to have and that's the one from James.
I'm going
to see the band in Werchter (Belgium) on may 28th, Is it possible that
you can help me with a meet & greet ? I know I'm a stranger to you
but it would mean the most for me, of course I can send you all of my
details for safety etc... thanks very much

This post is great for some perspective on a genre I have a great deal of difficulty understanding. Having understood it, however, I remain unconvinced that my computer or my ipod are appropriate venues for this music, at least for me personally. Music isn't one-way; listeners make an investment in it as well. Perhaps there is just enough dissonance in the world as it is that for some, investing in more of it is untenable.

Thank you for saying so. Your father was the real deal, a good man to tour with, a good boss and a friend. The world is a better place for having had him around for a while.

I know this is completely random, but I stumbled across a post you wrote about my father awhile back (Mike McLendon) and just wanted to say thank you. It was a joy to read :)

well, I have to add that as a piano player taking lessons in college from Jaki Byard at The Staples was not a light weight thing..also. hanging out with Serge Chaloff, Hugh Pomeroy and Toshiko at same venue was great. My absolute love has always been jazz. I physically followed Errol Garner, Ella Fitzgerald, Jimmy Smith all over the country to see their preformances..I bet I listen to more drummers and pianists than you and PD do together.
Just don't leave me out when I know I had tremendous influences on both of you. I might be quiet but silence can be powerful!

your ever lovin' Mom

Great definition. The use of unrelated and superficially are suspect but probably true. This was a weird internal call to arms, as plateaus appear through life, often after hiding in ruts for too long. I'd like to see our gestures actually quiet the stream rather than amplify it. Not all junk food, not all quinoa, but a balance of information that nurtures, challenges and catalyzes further movement and learning. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond.
