Late word here is he's sitting up, eating popcicles... this is quite different from the last message I got and a welcome relief. If all goes well he should be home by Thursday... unbelievable.

Word from Margot is they ended up doing a quadruple bypass on my father yesterday as his condition was worse than thought. As of when I went to bed he was in recovery and out of surgery. Now we must wait and see. Thank you all for your kind words and e-mails...

With Dad having a triple bypass while I recorded this, it was a way to keep him in my mind and the situation off of my mind. I certainly would appreciate all prayers and thoughts sent in his direction.
