Mama don't take my crummy sounds away from Music thing and Matrix Synth:    First I've heard of this; a new law in Japan called the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law which may outlaw the resale of vintage gear (believe it or not, anything before 2000!) this post has links to other sites who have more info on this strange turn of events... French crack in le wall from Boing Boing and Cory Doctorow: The French government has been discussing the digital music DRM issue and may attempt to force Apple and Microsoft to play fair instead of Fairplay...
