  I read this first in the print version and it's a good one. Sky Dayton, the founder of Earthlink and Boingo, has started Helio, a MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) cell business more like the advanced Korean ones. Makes you feel ripped off and left behind (in a cell tech kinda way...)

You can't believe how hard it is for an Independent candidate to run for anything in Texas; yup, Texas, that bastion of independence, the one always trying to go it's own way. In the Dallas Morning News (free registration required) is the story of how he has to get nearly 50,000 signatures on a petition and have people vote for him in the primary but they can't be the same folks... and then it gets complicated.
