2005 is behind us; a difficult and challenging year, I'm not entirely sad to see it go. There was loss on personal and universal levels, a growing discomfort with the way things have been handled by our government and the giant corporations and a sense that the way that humanity has treated the earth is now going to be an issue for the rest of our lives.
It wasn't all bad though, with good work, good family and friends. I found a new world through this blog and podcasting. These creative outlets may have directed a certain amount of energy away from some of the other ones I have but I but that they will balance out, get trimmed down and find their place in my bag of tricks.The people I have met and conversed with from all over the world in the past 20 years of travel have given me so much; the people of the blogosphere- podosphere- whateversphere have made a huge impact on me in just one year. I thank each and every one of you for your comments and support; thank you for putting yourselves on the frappr map; thank you for putting me on your blogrolls and linking to me from your sites.
I hope to continue to say things when I have something to say and share things when they ring true or funny with me. The thing about these forms of communication is when you don't do them on a regular basis, people forget about you or stop checking. I'm not going to be like a pro blogger where they have to have 15 posts a day in order to fill their contract. There might be quiet times like the last two weeks when life becomes busy and the internet life has to be put aside. For me, this is why RSS is so important and subscribing to podcasts and blogs. Let the application do the work; it will let you know when there is something new to read or hear. Often when one of my regular listens or reads falls quiet, it's such a treat to hear that voice again.
I hope that everyone's holidays were safe, warm and wonderful. I hope that your new year is filled with love, work, friends, family, challenges, rewards and quiet time. There is no way to truely appreciate some things unless you have the opposite thing to remind you of the difference. I'm getting ready for my Mom's visit to Texas, looking for some winter work, getting some stuff done around the house and enjoying some time with Angela and the furry ones. I look forward to hearing from you, seeing you, working with you and sharing with you in the New Year.
