from the BBC:

Phil Collins 'open' to Genesis reunion.

UPDATE: Ever floating the balloon, the extra added interest of Peter Gabriel being up front and Phil up on the riser is mentioned in this article from Pollstar... Notice that most of the comments come from the booking agent, who, besides not making any money off of Pink Floyd, would if the Genesis guys rolled back out...

FURTHER UPDATE: Now Gabriel is in the mix, saying it's worth talking about but not to bet on it, according to Rolling Stone...

from Instapundit.com and The Belgravia Dispatch:

I'm sure that if you read this blog, you're probably wondering why I keep posting links about the riots in Paris; what does this have to do with roadcases and coffee? Most people I tour with couldn't care less what happens to Paris and the French; I'm sorry they feel that way. I honestly think that this is a very important story and the discussions that are being raised might help us all understand the divide that exists in this country and around the world between the haves and the have-nots.

Instapundit.com has been keeping close tabs on the story and points to some other great articles, including Greg Djerejian at The Belgravia Dispatch.

from Om Malik:

For so many of us on the road, we can be seriously screwed by a lack of connectivity on the job site or at the hotel. Often a bad connection on the gig makes that day at the hotel even more crucial. With more of us using Skype, uploading files to our own servers, any restrictions from the hotel can really be a drag. It doesn't help that the hotel charges you the equivalent of $330 a month or more; if your ISP charged you this much and then downgraded
your connection when they didn't like the traffic they were seeing, you'd probably scream bloody murder. Why do I bring this up? Here's a report that Starwood Hotels monitors your net traffic.
Yup, Lodgenet, those cool guys who do the pay movies and play that jingle that will melt your brain, have installed a governor on your connection which will dump you down to 56k... read away.

Oh, and watch your credit card bills if you connect for pay on wireless... companies like Mobilkom in Austria have no problem charging you the higher European day rates ($25- $35 USD) and if you have a hard time connecting, will bill you 2 or 3 times for the same day... these things really make you want to piggyback on open networks (but be careful, there are those who set up phony wifi points to steal your personal info!!!)
