from Boing Boing and the Guardian:
Cory Doctorow points to a Guardian article on Brazillian Minister of (counter) Culture, Gilberto Gil
or as he is known in Brasil, Gil. This particular government has been
both a revelation of the 60's generation now being in charge, trying
new things and also getting tangled up in good old fashioned political
scandal.
For a musician who was exiled from his own country by the government after being jailed with Caetano Veloso,
it seems only right that this dreadlocked guitar player is playing a
role in some interesting changes in Brazil. They are looking at all of
the government computers going open source and ditching Windows, among
other things. A short article worth reading.
