from Pollstar News:

It appears that the record companies want the legal online music providers to charge more. Apple first publicly complained about it; now Microsoft got up from the table. The big four are really hanging on in a weird 20th century way to something that's already out of the bottle. Do they want to cut out the middlemen and sell the stuff direct to the public so they can make more? Some people are already pretty dependant on Itunes and MSN... do they want to alienate all their customers? Perhaps they should rethink their position. I don't really need to hear the new Jessica Simpson anyways.
