I had know idea how deep and long the Leonard Cohen lawsuit story was... thanks to S.R. for the following links from Macleans...

"Devastated"
- A story that could only go on in LA... and to know most of the players is really
strange.

"Anything but Lavish"- This sounds a little more like it....

I pray that LC can sort this out and find some peace and security. I look forward to the new album and hope I get a call. My time with him in '93 is some of the most treasured work I've ever done. He continues to inspire and comfort me.

Feeling quite good after getting two nights good sleep (reasonable temperature and low humidity perhaps?) and a trip to THE Hofbraeuhaus... Imagine a restaurant with seating for 5000 adult sized humans (not a typical Aronski exaggeration), filled on a non-festival weekday evening with tourists of every flavor. I usually prefer a tuna sandwich in my hotel room alone, but I digress...
Loud, drunken, bench-style seating was not for us, we wandered out to the cool courtyard. For a place with so much pork, potato and cabbage based treats, the food was quite nice. I mean our resident veggie had the Pork Knuckle for God's sake! Being surrounded by chain smokers drinking over-inflated American football-sized beers was less bothersome than I thought. They really know how to keep it moving there as they have been at it during three different centuries. It's the kind of place you want to take those spoiled American Coors Light swilling kids and present them with the hangover of a lifetime.
Now don't think that my comments are directed at the Germans (specifically the Muncheners) as this place is the tourist stop for the city. I love this town and it is one of the great walking towns in Germany. We did walk home to the Sprockets hotel, hopefully leaving some of the kcals behind...
So today we jump over the border to Salzburg, Austria for the Frequency Festival.
We are not closing tonight but once again in the second to last slot as Oasis is closing and...

wait a minute...

Kasabian is before us and...

The Others are on the bill....

Wait just a gol durn moment! Didn't we just did this show TWICE last weekend 5821 miles away? That's weird.

I hope to meet Paul from the band The Doves and the Blog/podcast Modern Roadie.
We actually did the same festival that last time we were over here in Germany in June, probably walked right past one another in the catering area...it's a small world but you can still not run into one another for years I tell you.

UPDATE: Kasabian and the Doves are not actually here... not so surreal, just a gig after all...
