In the air again, back to the east coast for some family
business... I could have sworn I just got home. I feel like I might be
clearing of the bus lung/crew crud I caught last week, a nagging little
thing that reduces the ability to sleep through the night. It's not as
if the brain turns off lately either but this crud has tired me out. We've had my brother in law at the house the past
few days which is great; we watched "The Life Aquatic" last night,
which we had already seen but was a welcome revisit. He visited last
year at the same time and it is turning into a nice routine. I recieved an e-mail from Michael Butler the other
day letting be know that the Rock and Roll Geek Show podcast I did last
month was played on Adam Curry's Sirius Podshow on Monday and Tuesday.
For those you curious how many hits it resulted in, the grand total has
been 0 in three days. Is anybody listening? Let me know... This week also marked the return of The Ken and Squip Show after a month long hiatus. It was so great to hear them back together again (if only in a Skype
sense) as they caught up on lost time and the re-evaluation of their
podcasting team. I think as the whole podcasting/podshow/$$$ nonsense
has divided camps, comprimised shows, and the thinning of the original
herd as it stops being fun for so many people, it was great to hear
them lay it all out on their two part podcast. I enjoy this medium
because of the friendships and the homegrown nature of it. I've got
nothing against, polish, good production values and endless 75 part
sweepers but it sure is nice to just turn the damn recorder on and just
share. This should be fun, not a trip to the dentist. What else...oh, I picked up another gizmo, an iriver IFP-795,
a pint-sized 512 meg flash card based mp3 player with voice and line
recording capabilities, an FM tuner and the ability to use the line in
with an external mic. This means yes, I'll be able to go more mobile at
shows, collect evidence on my buddies and perhaps do a few sound seeing
podcasts from Europe next month.
Oh and what the hell is up with Blogrolling.com? Could we get an update within 3 days?
