Today I had the chance to meet one half of one of my favorite podcasting teams, Cindy the Squipper from The Ken and Squip Show. It was a delight to spend a short time talking back and forth with her. It's been quite remarkable to be making this trip and meeting podcasters and podfans simply because I've been talking into my computer. There is the part of putting a face to the voice but another thing entirely to interact with someone that you already think you know something about. I think that it should be mandatory for me to listen to someone's podcast for 5 hours before I try to talk with them. Being challenged in a communications sense in that I sometimes ruin things because I enjoy the sound of what I say, Podcasting is improving my listening skills a little and that can't ber a bad thing.
I also had the chance to visit with an old friend from the Boston early 80's days, Charlie C. He was the vocalist with the first band I roadied for other than my own. As we spoke it struck me that no matter how much we all change and age, parts really stay the same. It's been a blessing in the light of my brother's passing that I'm starting to value every interaction, every visit, every moment with friends old and new. All we have is today and the blessling lies in that fact...enjoy every sandwich.

From the CBC...

Dennis Miller gets the axe.

I was such a big fan of Dennis through SNL, his first talk show on Fox, HBO and even MNF. But the right leaning show on CNBC left me cold. I guess it did the same for others...

Straight into New York after last night's show in Philly; there's someting special about sleeping on 53rd St. Tonight was show #1 of two at Roseland, the old ballroom that still stands, has events and smells like 1943. Last night saw the band refocus and pound out a strong show and today seemed to be a continuation. New York does strange things to musicians, nerves frazzle and the mind often runs. Along with LA, London and whatever the band's hometown may be, New York has big guest lists, celebs, peers, executives and crazy people for every act.

Oh and now Bobby has to play shaker too...

Back to sleep, tomorrow will be another longish day...

From the AP...

Dave Chappelle Reportedly Checks Into Mental Health  Facility. A very funny man who I would imagine is under a great deal of stress...
