What a treat... this evening a very cool event took place in my own hotel room... no, get your mind out of the gutter... Michael Butler from the Rock & Roll Geek Show came over with his daughter Martina and we did a podcast together!
Michael has been very supportive of Bitterman Circle and is such a big fan of music. I have enjoyed his podcasts for quite some time now. We chatted about what I do, played some songs and discussed what an amazing community podcasting has become. I concider myself really lucky to be a small part of this movement and think the idea of an Association of Rock and Roll Podcasters is a great idea!
Martina is a lovely young lady and I hope she enjoys tomorrows show at the Warfield. We passed out some swag; she got a Weezer pick, Michael got a Bitterman Circle laminate and I got some Rock & Roll Geek Show bumper stickers!
Thanks again to Michael for a great time... this is what podcasting is all about. I'll post a link to the show when he puts it up...

I know, I know, I've been lax in reporting on the shows for anyone out there who cares. If you need photos or news ASAP, check in with Karl at the band's website.
To be honest, I had written a pretty detailed series of comments about them and was trying to spellcheck them outside of my blogging software and accidently deleted all my comments... THE NEXT VERSION REALLY NEEDS A SPELLCHECKER ,GUYS!!!
Vancouver was very cool, the first show of the tour went really well and the kids in the crowd were great. they gave the band so much and the band gave them 3 years of pent up playing. The show seemed to fly by, short by some standards, but the delivered 19 songs (one was cut mid-show) but it packed a punch. The new stuff seems to work but the most of the kids don't know it yet... when they do, it's gonna be great. From posts on the message boards, some of them get it already; the rest just have to listen to the songs a hundred times on their ipods...
The Commodore is an upstairs club with a small service elevator, so the in and out were VERY slow. The alley we loaded the truck in seems to be the center of Vancouver's drug damaged behavior, everything from guys crawling around in the dark looking for dropped crack to meth-heads running their bicycles into telephone poles to no visable affect. Very sad and not very entertaining.
someone's on their way up, part two in a little while...
