In his most recent podcast, Michael Butler at The Rock and Roll Geek Show joined
his friends in a review of the most recent episode of "American Idol".
I usually don't weigh in on things like "Idol", but if I did, it would
be to say that it's everything that's wrong with music today.
"Freebird" with no guitar solo? That's kind of like "Wipe Out" with no
drums...
Michael and his friends, all being guys in
rock bands had plenty to say. If you don't listen to his podcast,
you're missing out on a voice of people you think you know but don't.
There are plenty of guys and gals who are in rock and roll, have
families and don't live in a house up on the hill. They work, they
play, they struggle and they thrive. This podcaster shows us who he is,
no excuses, no apologies. In a day and age where everything is so
packaged and controlled, it's not only refreshing, it's necessary.
